On September 9, 2026, the City of Phoenix announced a new one-year pilot for First Fridays<\/a>. Under the Downtown Arts Vending on Private Property Pilot Program, businesses along Roosevelt Row can seek permits to host vendors offering locally made art and related goods on private property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city says the pilot covers 12 First Fridays events and will be evaluated for safety, business participation and support of the event\u2019s artistic purpose. It also says street and alley closures will no longer be allowed for First Fridays events.
